Save the British couple kidnapped for ransom in
Puntand-Somalia

I was watching the BBC World and CNN the other day. What I saw and other millions might see was horrific, graphic, and shocking. I saw the elderly British couple in agony. They seemed very sick, week, frightening and suffering. They seemed dying with no mercy around them! Humanity can not watch that with out doing any thing!
Conscience is god’s presence. Where is punt land’s conscience here in this case?
Save the innocent elderly British couple and save the name ‘Somali’ and save human compassion!

The vacationing couple was high jacked from high sea by punt land pirates. Lets call spade a spade here. Let us not paint the whole Somalis on the same brush!
Somaliland is clean and clear of this and fights against this phenomenon; the problem lies there in put land, Somalia, but that doesn’t mean Somaliland and the rest Somalis must not be concerned! They must and we are all concerned and should be so.

Save the ‘Somali’ name even when you are not from Somalia!
Even when you are from Somaliland which has suffered an ethnic cleansing from Somalia!
Even when you are from [Somaliland] the other side of the Somali peninsula which has nothing to do with what’s happening in Somalia- of Religious extremism, civilian deaths, mass displacement of people, sea piracy and the rest of it! Because we all share the name ‘Somali’
Even when we don’t share the inhuman activities happening there in Somalia

We Somalis of every where, Somalia, Somaliland, Djibouti, Ethiopia, and Kenya and every where else OWE the government and the people of Great Britain an un-repayable debt. They saved us when we were vulnerable and refugees. They let us come in their country with compassion. They gave us hope and comfort when we needed most. When Somaliland and Somalia were burning! The former by the Somalia government of Siyad Barre and the later by itself in a tribal war among them selves!

They accepted us when the Arab Muslims kicked us out of their countries with no regard of our situation at the time! With no regard of humanity!
Great Britain embraced and welcomed us, gave us opportunities equal to that of their citizens and eventually gave us citizenship. And not only that, remittance from Britain goes to Somaliland and Somalia and beyond. It goes to punt land and most probably the very village the pirates are keeping the high jacked British couple hostage for money!
Is that the right way to return a favour? I don’t think so!
Allah said in His Quran in an abstract terms “is there any reward for good-other than good” (Al Rah man, ch-27-v 60.) In doing this inhuman and evil act, the people holding the said British couple defied what Allah said as they defied what humanity is. They showed not only ingratitude to words the British but they also defied their humanness!

Capturing and keeping innocent people in captivity for ransom and abused them for the same reason is cruel, unheard-of and indeed un-Islamic! It is the worst thing human beings can do to their follow human beings! The British couple in question is now near death as reported recently. Their plea must be answered. They must be saved before it is too late, and not only that, the captors must be brought to justice


No one with his or her right mind can tell us that the punt land administration does not know where the British couple is. Don’t tell me they are not involved in the piracy business!
It is a known secret that the punt land administration and the elders there are involved in this new found industry. They are beneficiary of this evil business. The kids with the guns are their kids they could call them back from the piracy if they want to but there is a profit in this. That is how they see it with out seeing the human misery involved in this business! They are in the thick of this piracy business and they pretend they don’t know any thing about it or they don’t involve in this! That is just not true! It is an absolute crab!

How can they (the couple) be saved?

The punt land administration, a de-facto independent region in east of Somalia, which was formerly known as “Majertainia” was founded by an ex-war lord by the name of Abdillahi Yusuf. He is the god father there He was the 3rd foreign country made and package president for Somalia. He followed the notorious Ali Mahdi and Abdilkasim warlords whom both of them were the products of foreign packaged war-lords. The

British government supported Mr. Yusuf and his government politically as well as financially! In the end he failed as his predecessor did, as expected by the Somali people! And not only that, Mr. Yusuf has a British liver transplanted in him. He frequents in London for treatment. The guy owes Britain a lot. But he is not returning that favour thus far!

The present president in that piracy infested region is called Mr. Abdurrahman sh. Mohamed, nicknamed “faroole” the man with the missing finger! He is the cousin of Mr. Yusuf, the godfather. He has an Australian citizenship and owns a fleet of taxi caps there as reported or told by his kinsmen!

Both the guys owe Britain and the world to answer this problem and many other problems bending there as many other people and other ships are in captivity for ransom. These two guys are in the thick of this piracy business by virtue of being the ultimate power there along with clan elders. No question they are in the thick of this industry and the centre of gravity of what happens there. It is a known quantity and a known secret

On the British side:

Let the foreign office call Mr. Yusuf who survives with British liver and got British money when he was president for Somalia. Put that guy in a plane to “Bossaso, Put land”. Let him and his cousin Mr.Abdurahman “faroole” contact their young cousins and nephews and virtually order them to bring the innocent elderly couple immediately! They must be demanded to bring the couple home or else their own personal interest will be jeopardized. The couple doesn’t come back; you don’t come back to London! Quid-pro co, Let it be, why not!

In such phenomena, in this cowardice and cruelty which defied all bounds of human decency where two innocent British couple high jacked, and may loose their life, warrants hard ball to be played with the rulers of pun land the region which is the centre of piracy!

Britain must temperarely put aside the political correctness and diplomatic nicety because dealing with these kind of people warrants just that and more, for the sake of the innocent captives.

On the Somali side:

The author asks all Somali speaking communities in Britain and else where to speak up and stand for the right thing to do, which is clearing their name by advocating for the release of these elderly British couple kidnapped from the high sea by Punt land piracy and not Somali piracy even when that is the case! The said communities must name the names of the big beneficiaries which the kids with guns work for. We must stand up in solidarity with kidnapped couple in captivity in punt land. The captives must be freed and the captors the big ones must be brought to justice
We all owe Britain a lot. Kidnapping and keeping their citizens for ransom is not the way to pay back a favour! It could happen to you.

Some people pervert their faith to justify violence and murder. It happens in Somalia day in day out! The Somalia people must fight extremism in which ‘Wahaabism’ is the mother of the troubles in the Muslim countries and communities, more on some than others. This must be confronted and remedied.

In Somaliland they succeeded in curbing this extremism off their country as they succeeded to avert and kept at bay this piracy phenomena which overwhelmed Somalia- more in punt land region than other parts of the country.
