On behalf of the people of the Republic of Somaliland, the WADDANI party congratulates the Turkish people on the 91st anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey. The Somaliland people cognisant of the historical connection they have with the Turkish peo ple wish them many more happy anniversaries. The WADDANI party considers the trajec tory of the admirable development which the Republic of Turkey has achieved and the successful leadership of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) as a role model to be emulated its aspirations a build a democratic, developed and a prosperous country.

We believe we share the difficult experience of liberating your country of the imperialist onslaught and made difficult choices to build your new state (the Republic of Turkey) and we hope to learn from you.

We also liberated our country from a brutal dictatorship and survived against the might of the Somalia state, which in the process got itself destroyed; we also took the choice to build a new Somaliland Republic and to part ways with the revival of the destroyed Somali state, as you made the choice to part ways with the mighty Ottoman Empire.
The WADDANI party appreciates the brotherly and objective role Turkey plays in hosting the talks between Somaliland and Somalia.

We hope these talks will be successful and do justice for all parties concerned. WADDANI also appreciates the brotherly assistance Somaliland Republic receives from Turkey, how ever limited and indirectly. Despite the difference between our two countries in size, mig ht and prosperity, we believe our cultural affinity is stronger than any difference and we hope to follow your footsteps in building a prosperous and just Somaliland society.
