Miss Africa Wellington crowned

Amina Mahommed was crowned Miss Africa-Wellington at the Loaded Hog this month.

Twenty-one-year-old Ms Mahommed is from Somalia. Runners-up were Jasmine Jusuf, also from Somalia, and Bridget Sibanda, of Zimbabwe.
With the Ms Africa-Wellington title Ms Mahommed won cash, beauty products and hotel vouchers.

The beauty pageant, in its second year, was organised by Savannah House Entertainment to celebrate African culture in New Zealand.

Part of the proceeds will go to Change-Makers Forum charity.
