Somaliland Watch Group deplores and condemns the assassination attempt on the life of Mr. Qabili a government critique and anti-corruption crusader.

This demonic act is a new phenomenon to Somaliland political culture and a way of life. It is utter madness for some people to try to silence dissenting voices and views by way of threat and assassination. This kind of act is new to Somaliland.
this ought to stop not only for the sake of Somaliland peace and stability but also for the stability of the whole region

The perpetrators of this heinous act were hired felons. The real perpetrators are behind the curtain. Those who were behind this evil operation have no clue the ramifications and the extent of the consequences of such un-Somalilander act could bring to the peace and stability of the country

Many people are pointing their fingers at the presidency! The chairman of a major opposition party (UCID) claimed that he received threatening messages from the presidency. This protest preceded this assassination attempt on the life of a law maker of the same party!

Whoever was behind this disturbing act is a criminal and ought to bring to justice.
We don’t have a reliable confirmation whether the presidency was privy to this incident; however the underhand and the hired assassins must be brought to justice
This is not the right way to run a government. It is up to the government to go to the bottom of this evil act.
We call the president that he must investigate and bring the perpetrators to justice before every thing gets out of his hand, as soon as possible
